In 2022, YouthLink had the pleasure of collaborating on the Youth Center Fair, an annual event that brings the community together.
The fair took place over 3 days and was centered around the themes of “losing the self”, “finding yourself" and “expressing yourself”.
The first day focused on relaxation and rejuvenation, with activities like sound bath, chanting group and capoeira. We ended the day with a screening of the Youth Center Documentary which was the result of months of hard work from Cheenu and the YC team.
The second day was all about connecting with others and finding your place in the community. The Folk Dance and Music Concert brought people together to celebrate and have fun. The “Find Yourself” game encouraged participants to engage in meaningful discussions with others and learn more about themselves in the process.
On the last day, the activities were focussed on creativity and expression with Laughing Yoga or Belly Dancing performances allowing participants to explore their artistic side. The play “Get Lost, Like Hansel and Gretel” was a hit with the crowd and the DJ set by Mirco had everyone on their feet!
The fair was a huge success, with over 450-500 people attending over the course of the weekend. The participants were delighted with the care that had been taken to prepare the place and the variety of activities and games on offer.
If you missed the annual Youth Center Fair last year, don’t worry! There will be another fair this year on the 16th of December, that promises to be just as - or even more amazing!
However for it to happen, Youth Center needs your help, contact them to volunteer and let's make this year's fair memorable together!
