YouthLink has gone through a lot during the year 2022; kicking off with a new organisational structure, a revised vision, and an expanding team! This blog will guide you through the year of 2022 at YouthLink :)
Organisation and Team
What do we prioritise? Efficiency? Time? Money?
We sat down with this question in January of 2022, along with one of our most trusted mentors.
After 6 months and many team building sessions later, we've boiled it down to one value that we all connect with: Kindness. We have successfully created a non-hierarchical, yet effective organisation structure where all members are autonomous yet responsible and accountable, and is kept together with kindness towards each other and the world around us.
Our Primary and Secondary Goals
We work on such a wide variety of activities and events that it sometimes becomes difficult to boil down what exactly we are doing.
"From running awareness campaigns to making surveys and creating karaoke nights... what exactly are these guys doing?"
Our primary goal is to create a community that is safe, well connected, and moving towards creating positive change.
All our events, projects, and workshops reflect this: from sexual harassment awareness campaign, to language courses, to social events; we work towards creating connections for positive change: Linking.
Our secondary goal is pretty much the along the same lines as our primary goal, but it's just the audience that changes.
Our secondary goal is to help shape individuals to grow into proactive community members that are capable, flexible, and kind.
This goal truly comes to manifestation in the YouthLink team, where members get equipped with self discipline, quality information on Auroville and its' functioning, and practical skills, both soft and hard, on managing and running various projects and initiatives. Mostly through peer to peer learning, but internet and Youtube gives a hand once in a while too ;)
OK, so what did we do in 2022?
Additionally, we grew from a team of 3 to a team of 11 individuals!
